Telco Switch Control / Billing data connectivity
Compania de Telecommunicaciones de Chile (CTC) operates
over 100 wireline telephone switches across the country,
as well as providing data and Internet connectivity
services to its business and consumer customers.
For billing data, the company uses an
IP-based Wide Area Network and two Sun servers running
Solaris 9 to collect call detail records from each
switch that it manages.
The Software Group Limited's
BX.25/ AMATPS library and lower level protocol software
enables remote data collection from each switch in the
network.
For its OSS (Operational Support System), CTC relies on
a network of over 100 Intel-based Unix servers, running
SCO OpenServer 5. Each of these machines has an X.25
connection, provided by The Software Group's Netcom II
X.25 protocol implementation and SGP hardware.
